Position: Technical Training Instructor (Information Technology)
Description:
- Provide expert skills and knowledge in delivery of instruction to students undergoing classroom instruction in the above discipline.
Instructional expertise includes:
- Coast Guard standard workstation system management and web authoring software/hardware training
- Provide one-on-one instruction as requested by the On-site Technical Point of Contact
- Design, develop and provide instructional plans, classroom presentations and training aids and provide to the On-site Technical Point of Contact for review and comments
- Provide recommendations and solutions in the area of performance based computer training and shall manage and maintain classroom computer systems and perform all necessary troubleshooting, hardware/software upgrades, routine backups, and equipment replacement to support each class.
Required Knowledge & Experience:
- Must possess a minimum of 10 years experience as a Coast Guard or Navy Subject Matter Expert in the Rating specialty required, or an equivalent Military Occupational Specialty (MOS) from another military service (Air Force, Army, Navy or Marine Corps), or equivalent experience and education in the civilian sector. Experience aboard a variety of floating and shore units is preferable.
- A minimum of one year experience as a primary classroom instructor providing training, preferably with a Certified Technical Trainer (CTT) certification or an equivalent Military Occupational Specialty (MOS) code.
- Speak fluent English.
- Proficient in using Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint and computer graphics programs.
Physical Requirements
- Office and classroom environment that may include lab work, field trips, site visits, and demonstrations
- Some overnight travel required
- Some nights and weekends required
