Position: Technical Training Instructor (Command Center Watchstander (CCW) Instructor)
Description:
- Provide expert skills and knowledge in delivery of instruction to students undergoing classroom instruction in the above discipline.
Instructional expertise includes:
- Effective Response Coordination: evaluating the response action and coordinating the response activity.
- Effective Mitigation Coordination: directing mission response and providing advice on case suspension.
- Maritime Domain Awareness: collecting, analyzing and disseminating information and intelligence on all activities and elements that threaten the safety, security or environment in the U.S. maritime domain; preparing the Common Operational Picture.
- Unified Command and Control: ensuring integrated conduct of operations; ensuring coordinated leveraging of maritime partner relationships; providing foresight in planning and coordinating employment of assets and capabilities within AOR.
- Ports, Waterways and Coastal Management: maintaining accessible data on maritime activities and incidents; developing and promulgating appropriate Notice to Mariners, UMIB and Security Alerts.
- Communication: managing various communications equipment, responding to various distress alerts and providing communications support within SCC or AOR response activities.
- Information Security Management: obtaining access to and familiarity with the use of databases and information and managing the locally developed situation display.
Required Knowledge & Experience:
- Must possess a minimum of 10 years experience as a Coast Guard or Navy Subject Matter Expert in the Rating specialty required, or an equivalent Military Occupational Specialty (MOS) from another military service (Air Force, Army, Navy or Marine Corps), or equivalent experience and education in the civilian sector. Experience aboard a variety of floating and shore units is preferable.
- A minimum of one year experience as a primary classroom instructor providing training, preferably with a Certified Technical Trainer (CTT) certification or an equivalent Military Occupational Specialty (MOS) code.
- Speak fluent English.
- Proficient in using Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint and computer graphics programs.
Physical Requirements
- Office and classroom environment that may include lab work, field trips, site visits, and demonstrations
- Some overnight travel required
- Some nights and weekends required
